The president of the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (CONFIEP)Jorge Zapata Ríos, urged the country’s businessmen to get involved in the country’s political life.
“Businessmen must get involved in the tasks of our respective jurisdictions. We are convinced that businessmen must do much more than what we are doing today”he indicated.
He also pointed out that the country’s growth is insufficient. “Peru could grow twice as much if we had better institutions, a more predictable political system and clearer and more solid institutions,” he pointed out.
He said that the institutions have weakened because meritocracy has been lost in the State.
