On the morning of this Sunday, April 16, the president of the Municipal Chamber of Miranda (Concemiranda), of the Falcón state, died in a rollover-type traffic accident.
The event where Adrián Urbano Garcés Medina, 39, lost his life, occurred on the Falcón-Zulia national highway, specifically in the Agua Viva sector.
It was learned that the councilor was returning from the Río Seco parish in a red wine-colored Toyota truck, when the accident occurred where a Merú truck was involved.
Garcés was the only deceased in the spectacular accident where his brother Pedro Garcés, 47, and Alberto José Sangronis, 21, were also present. The latter were injured, for which reason they remain confined in a local health center for due medical assistance.
According to official sources, the councilor was transferred from the scene of the events to the emergency room of the “Doctor Alfredo Van Grieken” Hospital in Coro in a private car, where he died upon admission.
A grassroots leader
Adrián Garcés will be remembered as a beloved social fighter who showed his leadership in the El Recreo community of the Guzmán Guillermo parish.
There he emerged as a producer who bet on planting and raising animals to boost his sector during the ravages of the economic war.
With this eagerness to progress and grow, he motivated his neighbors to expand, for this reason he provided opportunities for the sector as a whole to move forward with a joint effort.
This is how he obtained the necessary support to obtain the position of councilor in 2021 at the hands of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.
Adrián Garcés fulfilled the function of president of the Chamber for four months.
It is worth mentioning that his wife, Carmelis Chirino, was a councilor in the period that preceded him.
Duel in Concemiranda
In accordance with the Organic Law of Municipal Public Power, Vice President Edith Zárraga will assume the presidency until the end of the year in office and the new appointment is made.
The nine councilors that make up the Municipal Chamber expressed their condolences at the unexpected event that ended the life of Garcés.
