The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, unexpectedly dismissed, this Saturday, the commander of the Army, General Júlio Cesar de Arruda, after the assault on the headquarters of the three powers on January 8 in Brasilia.
To replace the general, Lula da Silva appointed General Tomás Miguel Ribeiro Paiva as Army Commander, who is in charge of the southeastern military region, which includes the State of São Paulo.
