President Nicolás Maduro installed this Sunday, from the emblematic Battle of Boyacá hall in the Miraflores Palace, the XXV Summit of heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), regarding the 21 years of the founding of the regional bloc by commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro.
Maduro welcomed the presidents, prime ministers and delegates of Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Grenada and Saint Lucia.
The head of state highlighted in his initial greeting that the presidents of Alba-TCP are experiencing a stellar moment to take a step forward and set an example of how international law is defended by the people of South America and the Caribbean, in defense of the homeland, in the face of imperialist abuses.
For President Nicolás Maduro, Alba-TCP is a “great project of unity, emancipation, multidimensional liberation of our people, in a time of wonderful challenges.”
«This summit is being held in these times, to unite joint efforts in favor of equality, respect and justice. Furthermore, to firmly denounce all violations of international law and to ratify the Havana declaration of January 2014, signed and approved at the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) that declares Latin America and the Caribbean as a territory of peace,” he expressed.
Next, he indicated that “this declaration is Law and has jurisprudence, approved by the 33 governments and peoples that make up Celac.”
He added that in 2025, a total of 20 thousand tons of different commercial components could be mobilized through the ALBA ship.
“This year 2025 has been a good year for ALBA, of close coordination, of joint work, of planning to action,” said President Maduro, referring to the commercial exchanges carried out between the 10 member countries.
In his opinion, these actions represent great solidarity support between nations “and we must unite our naval fleets so that trade is guaranteed in the Caribbean, both in goods, products and everything our countries need,” he highlighted.
Petrocaribe will reinvigorate energy agreements
On the other hand, President Maduro expressed to the presidents of the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of America – People’s Trade Treaty (Alba-TCP) that the time has come to resume the Petrocaribe energy projects and how they have been working.
He recalled that a year ago, it was decided to “jointly invest and produce all hydrocarbon components, from oil, from refining, to petrochemicals and beyond. “They are projects that are already quite well designed,” he pointed out.
He continued by highlighting that Petrocaribe is a commercial entity that was born in 2005, under the guidelines of Commander Hugo Chávez, which facilitates access to Venezuelan oil to Caribbean and Central American countries with positive negotiation conditions for all members that are part of the alliance.
