President Mulino meets with the PRD bench

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, met today Friday with the members of the bench of deputies of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), for the reform of the Social Security Fund (CSS).

Mulino indicated that his government’s objective is to have a good law in favor of Panamanians, both in the medical care service part and in the financial part that includes the pension system.

During the meeting, the PRD deputies expressed their concern on the issue of governance.

The representatives Benicio Robinson (son), Crispiano Adames, Raúl Pineda, Arquensio Arias, Flor Brenes, Jaime Vargas, Javier Sucre, Marcos Castillero, Nestor Guardia, Nixon Andrade, Sara Magallón participated in the meeting, representing the PRD bench. and Raphael Buchanan. While, for the Executive, in addition to President Mulino, the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, participated; and advisors Ventura Vega and Ricardo Fábrega.

Deputy Sucre said that his party recognizes as good the decision made by President Mulino to confront the CSS problem from the beginning of his government, and said that the PRD bench is willing to contribute to the benefit of a good law.

“No one is going to invest a dollar here if this is not approved. That is why we have to agree,” said the opposition deputy.

Deputy Adames also clarified that the PRD does not have a closed position against the Executive’s bill, but rather proposes some modifications on issues of governance and management of funds. “We have to look for middle ground on these issues,” Adames said.
