President Mulino appointed Sheyla Castillo as director of ANTAI

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, appointed Sheyla Castillo today as the new general director of the National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI), who must go through the ratification process in the National Assembly.

Castillo holds a degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Santa María La Antigua, and is a founding partner of the law firm Arias & Castillo, which is dedicated to the general practice of law in the country.

She is also a member of the International Chamber of Commerce, as well as the local chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club, the Latin American Arbitration Association, the Panama Bar Association, Women Way Arbitration (WWA Latam), the Dispute Resolution Board and the Association of Female Directors of Panama.

Professionally, Castillo has served as an independent director of AustroBank Panama, legal advisor to the Ministry of Housing, special notary advisor to the National Mortgage Bank, advisor to the Chamber of Commerce of Panama, general director of Labor, Vice Minister and Minister of Labor, advisor to the Ministry of Government and Justice, and first director of the National Crisis Coordination Center of the National Security Council.
