The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting with the State’s Security and Defense Bodies on Thursday to review the operational plans within the framework of Plan 7T.
The central objective of the strategy is to guarantee the peace and sovereignty of Venezuela, in response to what the National Government qualifies as a threat to the recent military deployment of the United States in the Caribbean, an action justified by Washington in the anti -drug fight but frontally rejected by Caracas.
The meeting was intended to strengthen civic-military-political coordination to defend the territorial integrity and stability of the nation.
Earlier, President Maduro ordered that this weekend develop a military enlistment process. «I have summoned the headquarters of military barracks, central public squares and at the headquarters of the 15,751 popular bases of comprehensive defense, to a national enlistment process of the entire Bolivarian national militia. On Saturday 23 and Sunday, August 24 ».
Similarly, he called ranks to all the militiamen and reservists of the nation through the National Simón Bolívar Sovereignty Plan. «I call everyone! To the people who also want to enlist in the National Plan for Sovereignty and Paz, Simón Bolívar ».
«The order is given, to defend the homeland. Faced with any circumstance: maximum military, popular and police union, ”he said.
On the other hand, Maduro stressed the fundamental role that the military institution plays as a backbone of national stability.
He pointed out that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) has been built with strategic vision to guarantee peace, sovereignty and cohesion in the country before any adverse circumstance.
On the other hand, Maduro said that from Venezuela we want the right to make Latin America and the Caribbean to be independent and sovereign. “We want to assert our historical right to build our own economic, political, cultural, social and military model.”
