“Venezuela has found its path, its own path,” stated the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, after celebrating the first anniversary of the National University of Sciences «Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán», along with men and women, researchers, students, seedbeds and teachers whom he praised for their work in applying science and technology for the lives of all Venezuelans.
“We are neither an imitation nor a copy of anything or anyone, nor do we want to be; we are not slaves or a colony of anyone, nor will we ever be, and with our historical rebellion, with our collective intelligence, we are affirming the safe steps to walk on our own feet, think with our own head, sow and build with our hands and make a new society that is collective creation, of all the good, honest people, who love life and who love this country,” he summarized about the present and future that is built with the people and the knowledge.
Previously, he stated that the history of Venezuela is a source of pride for those of us who were born in this land of grace. “It’s admirable, we should feel proud to be Venezuelans. It’s a great story wherever you see it,” he said, with visible pride.
He also referred to the legacy of the scientist Fernández-Morán, as one of the many examples of Venezuelans who have contributed to the base of the historical-cultural heritage of scientific knowledge.
“It is a movement that has arisen in Venezuela and manages to unite these young people who begin life, at 16, 18, 25 years old and study advanced careers in world science, to highly experienced scientists of various ages, who today encompass two blocks of strength for the future.”
When closing the presidential activity, the national president, accompanied by scientific authorities, including the sectoral vice president Gabriela Jiménez, made an appeal to the students of all federal entities, present on the occasion.
“I congratulate Gabriela, this entire team; a year ago we were here projecting the future. And now we are here, where the future is you, boys, girls; do not let your dreams be taken away, do not let your country be taken away.”
