President Maduro urges to defend the truth on Journalist's Day

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on June 27 congratulating all the journalists of the country, exhorted them to continue defending the truth before the world.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, the Head of State urged to continue with the truth about Venezuela to defeat the lies of the media corporations.

“The communication work has been vital to show the truth of Venezuela to the world, in the midst of adverse circumstances, without stopping,” he stressed.

Likewise, the National President celebrated the ethics, morals and the effort that the country’s communicators put in every day, to bring the news to Venezuelan homes.

Every June 27 in Venezuela, the National Day of the Journalist is celebrated, a date that celebrates the first edition of Correo del Orinoco, a newspaper founded in 1818 at the initiative of the Father of the Nation Simón Bolívar, with the character of communicational tool of the patriots to counteract the opinion matrices, generated by the contents of the imperial press represented by the Caracas Gazette.

Since 1965, this day has been celebrated in recognition of the work that journalists carry out in favor of timely, truthful and impartial information, without censorship, without lies.
