The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his solidarity with the Vice President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, in the face of the political trial she is facing.
“I deeply admire the nobility with which you have faced such a storm of insults thrown against you, most worthy heiress of Juana Azurduy and Evita. Your enemies know very well that you are, today, the main sentinel of Argentine sovereignty and the staunchest guardian of the interests and dreams of your People”, wrote the National President in the letter.
The Head of State described the position of the Prosecutor’s Office as “unacceptable” and assured that the “media-judicial execution” lends itself to interests contrary to Argentine democracy.
“We know the ilk of those who accuse you today, we know that they do not command themselves and that they vilely instrumentalize the administration of justice, protected by the factual power of the media, based on their grim ends,” he stressed.
The Venezuelan dignitary assured that the truth will prevail in the case against Fernández and that the pretensions to end Peronism will be definitively defeated, while reiterating the unconditional support of “Bolivarian and Chavista Venezuela” in the face of these new attacks by the oligarchy.
“You are an example of consequence, consistency and fidelity to that life decision. On the contrary, your enemies have their backs to the popular Argentina and they are nothing”, stressed the President.

On August 22, federal prosecutor Diego Luciani requested that the Argentine vice president be sentenced to 12 years in prison and barred for life from holding public office. He points to her allegedly having led a network of corruption in infrastructure works.
The Vice President of Argentina presented last Tuesday a series of testimonies and evidence, published in the press, about the falsehoods and contradictions in the trial against her for the cause known as Vialidad.
In a live presentation on his Twitter account, he denounced a broad political and media campaign against him.
