Deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra reported that he received a call from his father, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who is kidnapped in the United States along with the first combatant, Cilia Flores. During the contact, the parliamentarian was able to speak directly with the president.
With enthusiasm, Maduro Guerra explained that the telephone communication occurred while he was in the Chamber of the Federal Legislative Palace. In the talk, they addressed the current situation in the country.
Upon receiving the report on the national panorama, the president reiterated:
«You are doing exactly what you have to do and you are taking the right steps. Our tranquility here is the unity of the people, the unity with the High Command and my team, which is the team of the country.
Likewise, he highlighted his full confidence in the management team led by President Delcy Rodríguez.
Amnesty Law
When referring to the Amnesty Law, the head of state noted that this measure not only benefits those who have been released after participating in violent acts, but is also relevant “for us.”
It is important to remember that President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant, Cilia Flores, were kidnapped on January 3 during a military operation carried out in Caracas and three other states in the country. This action left a toll of military and civilian deaths, in addition to considerable damage to strategic infrastructure.
