“As evening falls on this Christmas Eve, my family and I extend our deepest wishes so that prosperity reaches every Venezuelan home,” wrote the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, in a message broadcast through his Telegram account.
The head of state highlighted that December 24 represents a day of peace and encounter, where families prepare to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus. “The Venezuelan people keep the Christian tradition alive and highlighted the festive atmosphere that is perceived in the streets of Caracas.”
He stressed that the joy of children is the center of the celebration, and recalled that the Child Jesus, born in a humble manger, symbolizes the redemption of humanity. In his message, he emphasized the importance of preserving faith and unity as pillars of national life.
“May the sound of our bagpipes, parrandas and carols accompany this celebration of unity and Peace. May the spirit of the Child Jesus bring blessings to each family. We are certain that, with unwavering faith, sovereignty and happiness will prevail in Venezuela,” said President Maduro. Also, on behalf of the first lady Cilia Flores and her family, he conveyed blessings to each home and reaffirmed the commitment to the defense of the homeland.
In addition, the audiovisual broadcast included words from Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Frías, who recalled that on December 24, a child was born in humble conditions, and thus evoked the historical and spiritual meaning of the date. The joint message reinforced the vision of Christmas as a space of unity and faith for the Venezuelan people.
