The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, this Tuesday, held a working meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Pátrushev, in Office 1, of the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas.
With a strong handshake, the Head of State formally welcomed His Excellency General of the Russian Army, Nikolai Patrushev, and the delegation accompanying him on this important tour of South America.
The meeting will serve to review the map of cooperation in progress with the Russian Federation, especially everything that has to do with security and, in addition, will strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations.
Nikolai Pátrushev, has been secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation since 2008, and on this occasion, he is accompanied by the deputy secretaries of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and the Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov.
The national president was accompanied by: the first combatant Cilia Flores, the sectoral vice president of Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace and Minister for Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López and Major General Ornella Ferreira, secretary of the National Defense Council .
This meeting will also allow to evaluate the challenges of current geopolitics and the progress of relations between Venezuela and Russia, the rejection of coercive measures, sanctions and any form of external interference against both nations.
Russia and Venezuela are committed to building a multicentric world without empires or threats of any kind. It is worth remembering that, on December 15, authorities of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Russian Federation signed 11 agreements in strategic sectors to continue consolidating bilateral relations at the highest level.
