President Nicolás Maduro presented in his program ‘Con Maduro +’, a group of scientists who will promote a development project at the Turpialito Hydrobiological Station, located in the Gulf of Cariaco, Sucre state, which he described as a project that integrates science with the community and the economic development of the country.
“All this multidisciplinary work applies science at the highest level of knowledge at the service of the productive sector. Science applied to knowledge,” said the head of state before his guests.
The vice president for Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, highlighted that this hydrobiological station, unique in the country, is ready “to preserve marine species and national aquaculture.”
He said that “recovering the station will encourage the application of knowledge for the production and cultivation of oysters, mussels and natural algae that serve as food for marine species,” and the idea is to produce them for export purposes to strongly enter the mussels and oysters.
He reported that four communities have been incorporated that have the induction to join the production process of these species for commercialization.
President Maduro congratulated the efforts of this group of men and women of science, and reflected that “we lack time and space to disseminate all the achievements that Venezuelan scientists produce every day.”
He asked to articulate all the projects of these scientists to the life of the country, as it is gradually integrated.
Likewise, he urged to move forward quickly with the completion of the Humberto Fernández Morán University of Sciences, which he announced will be the space for articulation of science with Venezuela and the world.
