The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduropublished an emotional message to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus and highlight the importance of family unity at this time, asserting that “nothing and no one takes away our right to celebrate in peace.”
“Child God was born! “Jesus of Nazareth, son of Mary and Joseph, who was born in historic Palestine to bring us the good news of freedom and happiness to the people,” said the head of state through his social media accounts.
The president added that the arrival of the baby Jesus has been “the best gift we have been able to receive, embraced as a family, surrounded by the joy of our sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters,” and with renewed faith by counting on his blessing and protection.
The message was accompanied with a video that includes messages from Commander Hugo Chávez and President Maduro about the meaning of Christmas that brings hope and happiness to the people.
