The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, congratulated his counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel and the Cuban people, for the result of the electoral day on Sunday, where the democratic and pacifist character of Popular Power prevailed.
This was announced through the social network Twitter, @NicolasMaduro, in which he wrote: “We send a hug of sincere congratulations to President @DiazCanelB and the Cuban people for the democratic and pacifist spirit expressed on election day to elect the National Assembly of Popular Power. In the national elections held on Sunday, March 26, 6,164,876 voters voted, a figure that represents 75.92 percent of the more than 8,120,000 called to the polls, according to the preliminary report reported. by the president of the National Electoral Council, Alina Balseiro.
He pointed out that attendance at these elections was higher than previous votes, particularly in comparison with the referendum on the Family Code, it is 1.8 percent higher and 7.36 percent more than in the municipal elections.
It is worth remembering that the national election process culminates with the constitution of the National Assembly of People’s Power, which will be in charge of electing the President and Vice President of the Republic, on April 19.
Earlier in an official statement, the Bolivarian Government ratified the fraternal and solidarity commitment to the brotherhood relationship between Cuba and Venezuela, whose historical destiny is to walk together through the ages hoisting the same flags for a better world.
