President Maduro and authorities say goodbye to Tibisay Lucena

This Wednesday, President Nicolás Maduro Moros regretted the physical departure of Tibisay Lucena, Minister for University Education.

“It is with great sadness that we have to say our last goodbye to a woman of great battles, Tibisay Lucena,” said the President, who through his account on the social network Twitter sent a hug of condolence and strength to all his family and friends.

The national President pointed out that Lucena was a “patriot, defender of democracy and education in our country.”

From the early hours of this Wednesday, national government authorities expressed words of appreciation and condolences, through messages on social networks, for the unfortunate death this Wednesday of Tibisay Lucenawho currently served as Minister of University Education and was president of the National Electoral Council (CNE).

For her part, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who announced the physical departure of Tibisay Lucena on Wednesday, expressed words of appreciation on the social network and sent condolences to her relatives.

Trajectory

Tibisay Lucena was born in Barquisimeto, Lara state, on April 26, 1959. She graduated in Sociology from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV).

In June 2020, Lucena said goodbye to the National Electoral Council (CNE), after 14 years at the helm, during which he led at least 18 elections.

By September 2020, she was appointed rector of the Experimental University of the Arts (Unearte) and on October 19, 2021, President Maduro appointed her Minister for University Education.
