President Luis Abinader met yesterday afternoon with representatives of 27 of the 30 political parties and organizations in the country, except the Dominican Liberation and Dominican Revolutionary parties, and agreed to create four commissions and meet next Wednesday to agree on a Defense Pact and Protection of National Sovereignty.
The meeting that took place in the National Palace began around 4:40 in the afternoon and ended after 7:00 at night.
The commissions that were created are Foreign Policy, Immigration Policy, Border Control and Economic Impact, which will be discussed at the meeting next Wednesday afternoon, where the commissioners They will state their position.
The commissions are made up of a representative from each organization or political party in the country.
The representatives of political organizations and the president discussed issues concerning foreign policy, immigration policy, border control, human rights, national security, border protection, the economic impact, and the Haitian crisis.

After the meeting, Eddy Olivares He said that “there was a commitment from the parties of different ideologies, with the nation, with the Republic and to walk together towards the solution of the problem.”
He stated that it was a reflection of the maturity and solidity of the political leadership before a call by President Abinader to discuss and agree on a highly important issue such as immigration and the Haitian crisis.
He praised the commitment shown by the representatives of the parties and organizations of different ideologies with the nation and their interest in walking together towards solving the problem of Haitian migration to the Dominican Republic.
