President Jair Bolsonaro participated today (31) in the celebrations of the anniversary of the city of Jataí, where he inaugurated the first stage of a sports complex. During the speech, the president praised the region’s contribution to the country’s agribusiness and commented on the possibility of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) deciding on the creation of a new time frame for the demarcation of indigenous lands.
“This region is geared towards agribusiness. We know what they represent for our economy. We cannot understand the possible approval of a new time frame for Brazil. We are a people of peace. We understand each other very well, especially with the indigenous people”, said the president.
The STF started, in August of last year, the judgment of an action that may increase the number of indigenous lands in the country, beyond those occupied or in judicial dispute on the date of promulgation of the 1988 Constitution.
Bolsonaro also made comments about the electoral process. “Clean democratic and auditable elections are the guarantee of our democracy”, he said when defending, also in the name of democracy, the access to weapons by the Brazilian citizen.
