The President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, arrived in Los Angeles, United States, at dawn to participate in the IX Summit of the Americas along with other activities and bilateral meetings.
During his first activity, the President met with the mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, to address issues such as water management and drought in urban areas. In this sense, both signed a memorandum of cooperation and understanding of water resources.
Also, President Boric held a meeting with various businessmen, including Google, Pfizer, Amazon, among others, raising the importance of investing in Chile. On his part, the businessmen raised the importance of having slowed down the advance of withdrawals from the pension funds and expressed the importance of including them in the discussion for the pension reform.
It is expected that at around 2:30 p.m., the President will hold a meeting with students from the University of Los Angeles, and at around 8:00 p.m., he will participate in the IX Summit of the Americas. In addition, President Boric will seek a meeting with his counterpart from the United States, Joe Biden, in addition to bilateral meetings with the presidents of Argentina and Peru, Alberto Fernández and Pedro Castillo.
