President Gabriel Boric informs that he will deliver “all the background” to the Prosecutor’s Office for the investigation of deaths in the social outbreak during the administration of Sebastián Piñera

The President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, reported that the Government is handing over, at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, the records of the deaths and human rights violations recorded during the administration of Sebastián Piñera in the framework of the social outbreak.

In the framework of an interview given to regional radio stations, the President was asked whether, currently, “there is a record to persecute” Sebastián Piñera, to which he replied that “there can be no impunity, we have not yet healed the wounds of the violations to human rights in dictatorship”.

In this sense, the head of state recalled Cristián Valdebenito and Romario Veloz, young people who lost their lives in the context of the social revolt. “Not only are we going to put all the records of those who are materially responsible for the death, but also of the political authorities.”

“That is our duty as a State, that there is no impunity. Now, I am not the one in charge of judging. We recently received a communication from the Prosecutor’s Office to be able to deliver all the records we have and that is what we are doing,” he concluded.
