This Saturday at the Institutional Church, a wake was held for Police Corporal David Florido Cisterna, who died last Friday after receiving a ballistic impact on his head in the context of an inspection in the Pedro Aguirre Cerda district.
Family members, friends and co-workers from Carabineros arrived at the ceremony. The President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, also arrived at the event. Just five hours after arriving in the country, after his international tour at the Summit of the Americas, he was present.

Also present were the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, the Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, Eduardo Vergara, the President of the Senate, Álvaro Elizalde, and the National Director of the Investigative Police, Sergio Muñoz.
“We have filed a complaint that aims to join the investigative actions and we will not finish our efforts to find those responsible for this unfortunate homicide. We extend our ailment to the Carabineros institution,” said the Secretary of State.
The general director of Carabineros, Ricardo Yáñez, lamented that “today we have had to bend again in the face of adversity, violence and crime that destroys our society and that takes away the life of a comrade. Meanwhile, Corporal Florido’s father stated that he filed a criminal complaint “against those who are responsible, as perpetrators, accomplices or accessories to the crime of Homicide of a Police Officer in Exercise in the exercise of his functions, provided for and sanctioned in article 416 of the Code of Military Justice, to a consummate degree, in the person of my son”.
“I have felt supported by the institution that my son always longed for. Today I am not sorry, I am angry, it is not possible for us to continue allowing the authorities, who are in charge of maintaining the internal security of the State, not to have the support they need,” he said.
