The President-elect, Gabriel Boric, led this Friday an activity on what will be the entry of the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity to the political committee. This, within the framework of a new commemoration of Women’s Day next Tuesday, March 8.
At the instance, Gabriel Boric commented that “I would like to speak to men, not only to the oldest, but to all men who inevitably keep the machismo in which we were raised”, assuring them that the commitment of his administration is that it will be a feminist government, which, in his opinion, will allow changing the way in which the population relates.
“In particular to men that we take it seriously. This is not a banality, this is not a postmodern response to identity demands, but we are talking about a commitment that is at the base of our Government: being a feminist Government It means changing the way in which we relate to each other, with which we see the world,” he deepened.
“I particularly ask men, certainly also women, to take it very seriously. That at the end of our government we can have collaborated with the cultural change that the feminist movement has pushed,” she emphasized.
After being asked about how he is preparing on the eve of taking office as President next Friday, March 11, Boric said he was “calm, not confident…never confident.”
“Don’t worry because I think we have managed to put together a tremendous team in its different dimensions, not only professionally and technically, but also humanly,” he concluded.
