President Jair Bolsonaro published, this Tuesday (28), a provisional measure that opens an extraordinary credit of R$ 167.2 million for the Ministry of Citizenship with the objective of guaranteeing the distribution of food baskets to the quilombola population. The MP responds to an allegation of non-compliance with a fundamental precept (ADPF) by the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The decision determined that the Union formulate a “national plan to fight the covid-19 pandemic with regard to the Quilombola population, with objectives, goals, programmatic actions, implementation schedule and evaluation methodologies, contemplating, at least, measures aimed at expansion prevention strategies and access to means of testing and public health services, control of entry into territories by third parties, considered community social isolation and distribution of food and hygiene and disinfection material”.
In compliance with the ADPF, the Union presented the plan for the quilombola population and one of the main objectives is to promote food security through the distribution of food and minimum income for the population in a socially vulnerable situation, which is being addressed through this MP
