President Dina Boluarte gave a message with zero self -criticism and oblivious to reality

They were four hours lost in a message to the extensive, dazzled and insubstantial nation, with self -criticism, abundant in unsustainable figures and ads on real bases. The President of the Republic, Dina Boluartehe demonstrated, once again, how disconnected the day -to -day life of Peruvians, their problems and their demands of more safety, better employment, health care and education.

Thus, with an overwhelming orphanage of concrete plans to combat insecurity and corruption – which was what he expected to hear 51% and 30% of the citizenship, according to the latest Ipsos survey – the president gave her third and last message to the nation on the occasion of the national anniversary, the same one that lasted 4 hours and 12 minutes, but only because she omitted to read twelve pages of the official discourse. Interestingly, those in which the actions projected until July 2026 were reviewed, and in which – according to the text approved by the Council of Ministers and delivered to the Parliament– It was mentioned, for example, the commitment to leave a equipped national police, initiate the construction of three new penalties and five emblematic hospitals – the last year said that 11 in 2025 would be built -, a retahíla of works in different sectors and the questioned acquisition of 24 aircraft for the Air Force.

It is victimized

As if they had not passed 31 months since he began his government, Boluarte again allocated the first part of his speech to make a long count of legal, economic and social instability that in December 2022 generated with his failed attempt attempt its coup then political partner Pedro Castillo, and that led her to assume the presidency by constitutional succession.

He accused that his government “had no peace or truce,” he presented himself as the architect of democratic continuity and tried to make up the scandals in which he has been involved by the Cofre case, the Rolex and his plastic surgeries, among others, arguing that there is behind “other interests” to turn it into an “scapegoat.”

In that line, in addition, he unmarked from his ex -allying – “they wanted to become a failed country such as Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia; (…) they wanted to make Peru an international out of the same,” he said – and repeatedly highlighted the support of his government by the Armed Forces and the National Police.

He did it surrounded by the repeated applause of his ministers and by the laptop located strategically in the hemicycle galleries, which was not enough, however, to silence the protests of some legislators of the left blocks such as Ruth Luque, Jaime Quito, Wilson Quispe and Roberto Sánchez, who curled the president his discontent with posters with slogans with lemas such as “Dina He repudiates ”, after which they retired.

Right there, confused among other assistants, was also the former Minister of the Interior and today official of the Juan José Santiváñez Government Palace, who did not stop taking notes; This time the great absent was the twin Nicanor Boluarte.

Illegal mining and security

Before them, and after overcoming some interruptions, the head of state made a recount of the alleged achievements of her government, awarding again other people’s successes such as monetary stability that is rather product of a successful management of the Central Reserve Bank. It offered to generate more employment, more infrastructure of public services, more markets for our products abroad, but did not detail how it will do it or with what resources.

He spoke of his commitment to mining investments and offered “zero tolerance with illegal mining”, but without the express commitment to issue the death certificate to the integral mining formalization record (reinfiche) or not to prolong its validity under another denomination.

He said that in 2024 “the Police carried out more than one million operations nationwide and that more than 13 thousand criminal gangs and more than 230 criminal organizations were dismantled.” Too good to be true, because the reality in the streets does not reflect the pompous statistics of the president in whose period the number of assaults, extortion and murders has increased exponentially (see page 14). Only as regards homicides, for example, December 4,909, 2022 to date, according to official figures of the National Death Computer System (Sinadef), have been recorded.

On the other hand, less than 9 months after the general elections of 2026, Dina Boluarte urged the population to give a responsible vote and to choose authorities “that guarantee us respect for the democratic order, the institutionality and the future of the homeland” and promised, which is what corresponds, to deliver the command to whom Peruvians choose at the polls.

He also urged the political forces to “a pact for Peru of Peace and Unity”, a unit that also claimed the institutions although contradictorily, in another passage of his message, he exacerbated the confrontation with the Public Ministry by referring that said institution “has been taken by subaltern interests outside the national interest.”

“Back to the majority”

Before his presentation at the Legislative Palace, where he arrived aboard a car with polarized moons, the president attended the Te Deum Mass where the archbishop of Lima, Carlos Castillo, called on the ethical commitment and to banish authoritarianism. “The people perceive that there are few who act by a vocation of service, and clearly observe that the mafia spirit has taken over our hearts,” he said, while warning that “a wide layer of the national leadership lives back to the majority and only sees their own interest.” Paradoxically, it would be hours later the message to the nation of Dina Boluarte who would attest to that disconnection and indifference with the feeling of the population.
