The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Thursday a campaign against the workers and the Caracas Metro System.
In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the head of state stated that this campaign is promoted on social networks by the Primero Justicia (PJ) party.
«PJ has given itself the task of attacking the Metro workers, and they have started a campaign on social networks, against our workers. They have given themselves the task of attacking the Metro, but the workers stick out their chests to defend their work, “warned the national president.
The statements were made after a complaint made by the president of the Metro System, Edison Alvarado.
From the ExpoIndustrial of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, President Nicolás Maduro stressed that, thanks to the workers of the Caracas Metro, it has been possible to face the blockade and the more than 500 sanctions promoted from the United States (USA).
“The subway workers denounce that the blockades and sanctions have prevented them from bringing spare parts to fix stairs for trains in general,” President Maduro pointed out.
He asserted that this campaign is also promoted by the US government: «Imperialism is on fire that the workers of the Metro and the railway services have the service ready, in tune, and how it hurts the gringos », he expressed. “That’s why they send their puppets to attack Venezuelan public services and workers,” he stressed.
Given this fact, he exhorted the working class to maintain an alliance with the industrial sector to work to be able to replace the necessary parts and produce and develop them in the country and provide a good service to the country.
“The Venezuelan people should know that the workers of the Caracas Metro and the CVG have joined effort and knowledge to manufacture pieces and parts necessary for the system’s locomotives,” said the Venezuelan president.
For his part, Pedro Maldonado, president of the CVG, asserted that for years they had been buying wheels from the US for the railway system.
Guayana workers, together with Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), produced the first two locomotive wheels of the Los Teques Metro system.
In this regard, he stated that in 15 days it is expected to have the first set of eight wheels made in the country for the Metro System.
