The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, led the mass celebrated this morning at the San Juan Bautista de Penonomé Cathedral, to honor the memory of four collaborators of the Ministry of Social Development (Mides) who died in a traffic accident that occurred when they were returning of an official mission.
Relatives of the deceased officials also participated in the mass, presided over by Monsignor Edgardo Cedeño, bishop of Coclé; the head of Mides, María Inés Castillo; the vice minister, Milagros Ramos Castro; the governor of Coclé, Julio Palacios, and collaborators of the institution and other public entities.
President Cortizo Cohen expressed his condolences to the relatives of Polidoro Pinzón, coordinator of the Family Networks Program in Coclé; of the collaborators of that program, Virgilia Rodríguez and Rossana Ramos, and the driver, Nicomedes Nieto, who died in an accident that occurred at the entrance to Juan Hombrón, in the province of Coclé.
Minister Castillo thanked President Cortizo Cohen for accompanying the Mides family in this moment of pain and the Bishop of Coclé for the moment of prayer to honor the memory of the deceased collaborators.
He stated that the four collaborators were extraordinary servants who left an indelible mark on their colleagues and on each of the people they helped through the social actions carried out in their work as public servants.
For his part, Monsignor Cedeño also highlighted the public service that these officials offered in providing help to others and asked the community to accompany their families in these moments of mourning.
