Pointing to “a certain left”, the former UDI member Constanza Hube addressed the accusations against her after a complaint for distributing material with false statements about the new Magna Carta in the midst of an activity in favor of Rejection in Los Angeles.
According to information provided by NYC Prensa, Hube was distributing a booklet with a cover and design very similar to that of the new Constitution. In this material false statements are seen regarding the constitutional proposal such as the legality of abortion up to 9 months, that home ownership is not guaranteed or that criminals will be able to vote and participate in popular elections.
This situation occurred in the middle of a call in the main square of the Biobío Region commune organized by “Biobío for a better Chile”, in which Hube was together with the former RN member, Paulina Veloso.

The former union member of District 11 indicated through her Twitter account that it is “incredible how a certain left calls ‘false’ everything that does not conform to THEIR interpretation of the constitutional proposal that THEY drafted. Chileans have the right to know so much what was approved as well as what was rejected, not only what is convenient for some (sic)”.
Paulina Veloso also addressed the issue, ruling out having delivered said “alternative” text, and assuring that it was the delivery of the practical guide on the proposed New Constitution. Through Twitter, Veloso indicated: “Could it be that they found out that we came to the Plaza de Los Angeles to verify the interventionism of the Government through public officials who were asking people for names and telephone numbers in exchange for a constitutional text? Aaaaah no, they don’t count that.”
“Constance (Hube) arrived at the square with this material and people began to ask for it and the truth is that it is not Rejection material, but rather it is an explanation of the lies that the practical guide to the draft of the Convention brings. It is a text that was delivered in a very massive way and that ex-conventionals continue to deliver”, said the ex-conventional Veloso, later, in conversation with Radio Bio Bio.
Likewise, the RN militant affirmed that this weekend she will deliver information to the Comptroller General of the Republic so that it can rule on the matter.
In the midst of this controversy, according to ThirdPresident Gabriel Boric wrote internally from his Twitter account to the ex-conventional member Hube, questioning her for her statements about the right to housing in the draft of the new Constitution, and in the course of the investigation being carried out by the Comptroller after a denunciation of the Republican Party for interventionism in the plebiscite of September 4.
“Somewhat late, President Gabriel Boric. His sector rejected time and time again the right to access one’s own home. His convenient somersault is very unbelievable,” Hube lashed out on the blue bird’s social network, pointing out that the Government’s Emergency Housing Program “coincides enough” with the new Magna Carta. The answer would come from within.
“Hello, Constanza. Why do you say that when I say the right to decent housing, I am denying that it is my own?” Boric wrote.
Hube replied: “Because you yourself, President, said that the paradigm of the dream of owning a home must be changed to access to decent housing. I also read your Emergency Housing Program and it coincides quite a bit with your Constitution.”
“I hope that this same interest that you have in responding to me would be dedicated to the millions of Chileans who today are helpless due to insecurity, organized crime, drug trafficking, uncontrolled immigration and price increases,” added the former constituent in the conversation with the President. And she sentenced: “If you and your government put the 10% effort you put into the Approval campaign, things would be much better.”
President Gabriel Boric replied: “You are an intelligent woman, Constanza. I know that deep down you are aware of the intellectual dishonesty of your comment. I do not believe and have never believed that access to home ownership should be deprived. Greetings.”
Hube’s reply was not long in coming: “Sorry, President, but the dishonest one is you and your government, which is obsessed with campaigning for Approval, which takes the time to answer me (in private more on top), when you should be awake worried for the people and families that are having a bad time, and that with this Constitution they will be worse off”.
“You want people to depend on the State, and that worries you much more than what is truly important, which is that the State be at the service of the people. You have forgotten that you are the head of state, not the campaign manager. It’s up to you to keep people safe. You haven’t realized that,” Hube added.
Finally, the former constituent UDI directly summoned the President of the Republic: “I am in the southern macrozone. I invite you to internalize the drama that families are experiencing, whose children have to wear bulletproof vests inside their homes to protect themselves from the attacks, families who have lost everything, because their houses and land have been taken. I invite you to stop governing on Twitter, to stop campaigning and to worry about your main job: to provide security for Chileans.”
