The President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, criticized this Sunday the presence of the former Archbishop of Santiago, Ricardo Ezzati, at the ecumenical prayer held yesterday at the Metropolitan Cathedral.
During a speech in La Pintana, the highest authority in the country pointed out that “there is something that bothered me yesterday to see in the Cathedral, it bothered me to see Mr. Ezzati, it bothered me to see people who have acted as accessories for serious crimes against children and girls”.
“I did not notice it yesterday (the presence of Ezzati in the Cathedral), but they made me see it and I want to say that we cannot continue to normalize these things, because here and in this Government boys and girls will be present (… .) that boys and girls feel part of what we are building and that never again, never again, their rights be violated, their trust abused, anywhere, by anyone, no one has that right”, emphasized the Leader.
