President Boric appoints new ambassadors to Ethiopia, the Philippines, Jamaica and Malaysia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonia Urrejola, reported today that the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, appointed Rodrigo Guzmán as Ambassadors of Chile in Ethiopia; Álvaro Jara in the Philippines; José Antonio Cabedo in Jamaica, and Jaime Muñoz in Malaysia.

Rodrigo Guzman

Lawyer from the University of Chile and graduate of the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy of Chile. Abroad, he has been stationed in China, Portugal, Cuba, Peru, Brazil, the Holy See, Italy and Romania. In addition, he was Deputy Permanent Representative to FAO.

In the Foreign Ministry, he has served in the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs; in the Asia Pacific Directorate; in the Directorate of International and Human Security; and in the Directorate for Environment and Ocean Affairs. At the time of his appointment, he was serving as Delegate in the provinces of Magallanes and Antártica Chilena and Aysén.

Alvaro Jara

Graduated in History and Geography from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and graduated from the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy of Chile. He has a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an Executive Master’s Degree in Public Management from the Free University of Brussels.

Abroad, he has worked at the Permanent Mission of Chile to the United Nations, at the Chilean Embassy in Belgium and Mission to the European Union, and at UNESCO, where he was the Permanent Delegate of Chile.

In Santiago, he has held functions in the Strategic Planning Directorate, in the General Administrative Directorate, in the cabinet of the Undersecretary of Foreign Relations and in the Human Resources Directorate, where he was Deputy Director of People. At the time of his appointment, he was working at the Chilean Embassy in Belgium and the Mission to the European Union.

Jose Antonio Cabedo

History graduate from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and graduate of the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy of Chile. In addition, he has a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Chile.

Abroad, he has carried out diplomatic and consular functions in Peru, Japan, Argentina, Jordan and Uruguay.

He has worked in various areas of the Foreign Ministry, highlighting the positions of Deputy Director of the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy and Deputy Director of Strategic Planning. He also served in the Special Policy Directorate and in the Asia-Pacific and Europe directorates. At the time of his appointment, he was stationed at the Chilean Embassy in Colombia.

Jaime Munoz

Lawyer from the University of Chile and graduate of the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy of Chile. He has served in the Republic of Korea, Colombia, the Holy See, and the United States. In addition, he was Consul General of Chile in London, United Kingdom.

In the Foreign Ministry, he has held functions in the General Administrative Directorate, in addition, he was Deputy Director of Human Resources. At the time of his appointment, he held the position of Deputy Director of Human Rights.
