President Gabriel Boric gave an overview of his trip to Canada and the United States after the Summit of the Americas, an event that brought together heads of state from the region and which took place this week in Los Angeles, California. The President stressed that “Many opportunities are open to Chile in the face of the world’s challenges.”
“What we have transmitted both to Canadian and US companies, as well as to all those who have wanted to talk with us, is that Chile is an attractive country because it is deepening its democracy,” said the President at a press point.

The Head of State pointed out that the “constituent process is precisely about that, deepening democracy, having clear rules that incorporate the criteria that are increasingly relevant in the world today: raising environmental standards, respect for our communities and, of course, respect for international treaties”.
“My impression, but you will be able to certify it, with the conversations you have with those of us who met, is that it went well for us, and that many opportunities open up to Chile in the face of the world’s challenges, in particular, given what is has accelerated world change because of the war in Ukraine, it was part of the conversation that we had today with all the leaders of America,” Boric continued.

“It cannot be that the concerns are only in the northern hemisphere. Our peoples are suffering from the rise in the cost of fuel, from the shortage of fertilizer, from the problems that exist in the production and distribution chains,” he continued.
“Today, in the bilateral meetings that we have had, we have managed to better insert Chile into the process of resolving those things,” emphasized the head of state.
