The president of the republic, Dina Boluarteparticipated in the closing ceremony of the school year of the Diplomatic Academy of Peru that took place at the Torre Tagle Palace, located in the Center of Lima.
The president began her speech by requesting a minute of silence for former Foreign Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi, who was found dead on September 8 of this year. He was 57 years old.
He then congratulated the graduates in the “Jorge Valdez Carrillo” class, who are joining a “dynamic and innovative diplomacy.”
“At this historic moment, Peru reaffirms its commitment to a proactive foreign policy, open to new opportunities,” said Boluarte.
In that sense, he explained that we maintain solid and established relationships with our traditional partners, while we explore new horizons and spaces for growth for the benefit of the Peruvian people.
The president explained that the teaching at the Diplomatic Academy forges essential values for the defense of citizens and Peru abroad, being “a center of excellence training generations of officials and also plays a fundamental role in diplomats for the defense of the interests of the country.”
With this closing, the members of class No. 62 “Ambassador Jorge Valdez Carrillo” will join the Diplomatic Service of the Republic.
The president was accompanied by the head of Foreign Relations, Elmer Schialer, among other diplomatic authorities and family members of the graduates.
