And it surprised everyone. The president Dina Boluarte participated this morning in the inauguration of the twelfth Bicentennial School, IEN° 101-1166 Simón Bolívar, in Cercado de Lima. At the event, which he attended with his unconditional Minister of Education, Morgan Quero, he drew attention by speaking out about the Chavista dictatorship using the word FRAUD.
Following harsh criticism of his government’s weak stance against the Nicolás Maduro regime, following the change of foreign minister, Boluarte tried to show that he is against the Chavista regime. At least, that’s how it sounded on Friday morning.
“We are not going to be part of an electoral fraud,” said the president when addressing the situation in Venezuela and Peruvian foreign policy, highlighting the work of Elmer Schialer, brand new Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The day before, Gustavo Adrianzén, head of the PCM, showed lukewarmness on the subject by not recognizing the victory of the opposition: “Edmundo González cannot be the president-elect. We have no communication from the Peruvian State recognizing that position. We have asked for a recount to be done, because we understand that it has to be within the framework of the electoral process where these minutes have to be reviewed.”
Boluarte said the cabinet changes, such as the appointment of a new foreign minister, do not affect government policies, including foreign policies, which will remain firm.
The head of state stressed that Peru demands transparency in the Venezuelan elections, urging that the electoral records be presented to confirm the results and avoid fraud: “We also do not agree with what our brothers and sisters in Venezuela are suffering. Our foreign policy remains strong and firm.”
He reiterated Peru’s solidarity with the Venezuelan people and condemned dictatorial regimes that cause hunger and underdevelopment.
The president emphasized that her government will not support dictatorships, maintaining its defense of institutions and the constitution. “We will never be on the side of dictators,” he asserted.
Boluarte also mentioned the support of other ministries, such as the Ministry of Defense, which recently assisted Ecuador in fighting fires, highlighting Peru’s peaceful and supportive nature.
Finally, he called for action on crucial issues such as immigration policy and crime, where he expects concrete results beyond words.
