President begins construction work at Samaná entrance with an investment of 300 million

Samana.– President Luis Abinader gave the first peck to begin construction work on the entrance to the city of Santa Bárbara de Samana at a cost of 300 million pesos.

The work carried out by the Ministry of Public Works It will have an intervention of 3.3 kilometers from the municipal district of El Limón until reaching the main municipality of the province.

The head of Public Works, Deligne Ascensión, said that the government has already delivered works worth 500 million pesos.

“The investment in works delivered this Sunday by President Luis Abinader in the Samaná province executed by the Ministry of Public Works totals 500 million pesos,” said the head of the portfolio.

He indicated that these 500 million were used on the El Limón bridge, paved in the Santa Bárbara-Samaná sectors.Anabel beach areas, Villa Clara, Villa Felix, Loma de Colón, Javier alley, the construction of the El Limón, El Naranjo, Cabeza de Toro and Las Garitas neighborhood roads.

The project, which will cost RD$449,000,000, aims to improve the storm drainage conditions of the Santa Barbara boardwalk, by increasing the capacities of the conduits that connect the town’s river and the Panchita ravine with the ocean. .

The Pueblo Viejo river and the Panchita ravine are the main bodies that transport rainwater from the municipality.

Both President Abinader and the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, highlighted the importance of the work, which will directly impact the main municipality and will give a major redo to the colorful San Felipe boardwalk.
