President begins construction of aqueduct of the municipal district Majagual, Monte Plata

Santo Domingo.- EPresident Luis Abinader and the executive director of the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewage (INAPA), Wellington Arnaud, started construction work on the aqueduct of the municipal district of Majagual, in Sabana Grande de Boyá, Monte Plata province.

It will have an estimated investment of RD$143,077,662.00.

A week ago, the official met with the locals and promised to start the work, which had been awaited for more than 70 years.

He stressed that, thanks to President Luis Abinader, who promised to bring drinking water and sanitation to every Dominican home, the decision was made to bring the precious liquid from Guaraguao, as a source, with the aim of guaranteeing, in the long term, a system with a quantity , quality and pressure, as the townspeople of Majagual.

“The first time we visited this community, the meeting was held in the park’s gazebo and, when we spoke to the people, they did not believe that the project was going to be carried out. But, at that time, we made a commitment to definitively resolve the issue of drinking water in Majagual. And today we are initiating that solution”, highlighted Arnaud.

The executive director of INAPA He specified that it was not fair that, in a province rich in water such as Monte Plata, its municipalities and municipal districts suffered almost completely from lack of service.
