President authorizes executive class for ministers and servants

Decree by President Jair Bolsonaro authorizes the issuance of tickets for ministers of state and public servants in business class on international flights lasting seven hours or more. In addition to ministers of State, the measure covers civil servants occupying positions in commissions or positions of trust at the highest level, as well as their substitutes or representatives in effective exercise.President authorizes executive class for ministers and servants

The new decree reverses a previous rule, edited by President Michel Temer in 2018, which restricted international travel by federal government representatives to the economy class. If the minister or public servant opted for the change of category, the difference would have to be paid by him. Now, ministers and civil servants in higher-level positions will be able to switch from economy to business class without paying the difference.

“The purpose of the decree is to mitigate the risk of physical restrictions and impacts on the health of public agents who need to leave the service of the Union abroad in order to try to mitigate any side effects in the face of ergonomic deficit and prevent them from having their capacities affected work”, justified the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, in a note.
