President Luis Abinader, accompanied by his counterpart in Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado, and the mayor of San José, Paula Vargas Ramírez, unveiled the plaque of the patrician Juan Pablo Duarte y Díez, located in the Dominican Republic Park, in the community of San Francisco de Dos Ríos, in the Costa Rican capital.
The activity was organized by the Municipality of San José in response to an initiative by Ambassador Mayerlyn Cordero Díaz to restore the bust of Duarte, carved by Dominican sculptor Augusto Rotellini, and its subsequent transfer to a place with greater visibility and accessibility for visitors. to the park.
Addressing those present at the event, President Abinader highlighted the magnitude of the figure of Juan Pablo Duarte, his honesty, his transparency, his patriotic and democratic sense. “That is the vision and it is the idea that we have of the Dominican Republic today,” said the Dominican president.

The Dominican president thanked the mayor of San José, the aldermen, officials and workers of the municipality, on behalf of the Dominican Republic, for having made this recognition to Duarte, an act, which will always be present.
