President Abinader to test Santiago monorail this Sunday: learn the route!

Presidente Abinader probará monorriel de Santiago este domingo: ¡conozca la ruta!

The President Luis Abinader will lead the first test of the Santiago Monorail today at 11:00 a.m.

It is estimated that the president will travel one kilometer on this transportation system, starting at San Lorenzo Park and ending behind Ensanche Espaillat. The test speed will be 15 kilometers per hour, while in normal operation it will reach 80 kilometers per hour.

This Monorail will cover a distance of 12.8 kilometers, connecting Cienfuegos with Nibaje through 15 stations, of which nine will be in the first stage.

This system is expected to be ready by the end of this year or early 2025.

It is recalled that the ruler shared his agenda for this weekend, starting on Friday with the inauguration of the National Army Fortress in San Francisco de Macorís and other locations.

Since yesterday, the president has been in Santiago opening the inauguration of the Fine Arts Center, handing over 250 apartments and other private activities, concluding today with the test event of this elevated train.
