“It is a shame that this (the draft Penal Code) is 20 years old and there are still imperfections, regardless of the ideological and criteria differences that exist, I believe that this Code needs to be studied and agreed upon more. I think that even extending the legislative session (which ends on the 26th of this month) would not be the necessary time,” said the president in LA Semanal yesterday at the National Palace when answering questions from journalists.

In another order, he raised the possibility of unifying the Ministries of Education (Minerd and Higher Education -Mescyt-, as part of the fiscal reform that is aimed at depositing in the National Congress.
“We are studying the unification and streamlining of several ministries, this is one of them (MINERD) and as part of the tax reform, we are going to present it,” he said.
