President Abinader receives the champions of Cibao Fútbol Club

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, received this Wednesday the champion team of the Dominican Football League (LDF), in a ceremony held at the National Palace.

“This is the first time that a president receives a champion team from the Dominican Soccer League, thank you very much President Abinader for all the support you have given to Dominican soccer. The development of soccer is visible ”, said Manuel Estrella, president of the Dominican Soccer League during his speech.

During the event, Estrella narrated everything that Cibao Fútbol Club has sown in the last eight years, from the construction of its own stadium and the works in the minor categories so that now the sport is growing.

He thanked the support and support that Abinader has provided to the League and to football in general.

“He helped us with the Jarabacoa stadium and has continued to support us in different areas and commitments such as the one we have with the Parque del Este stadium,” he said.

The captain of Cibao Fútbol Club, Miguel Lloyd, spoke on behalf of the players and the champion team, adding that Abinader has been “a great support”, especially in this time of pandemic.

In addition to Estrella and Lloyd, the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, Samuel Pereyra, administrator of Banreservas, Pedro Brache, of the Rica Group, Benny Metz, national football commissioner, Rubén García, president of Fedofutbol, ​​among other personalities, were present.
