President Louis Abinader ordered last night the modification of the regulation of labor relations, to increase the licenses and permits to public servants due to the birth of their children.
Through decree 312-22the president extended to men a one-day permit during the first twelve months of the birth of their children, to provide pediatric care for their offspring.
The Executive’s provision establishes that both the father and the mother can request up to three permits per year of up to three daysfrom three months after the child is born and up to five years old, to attend to any special situation of their children.

15 day permit
The decree also grants public servant parents a permit of 15 days, within the first three months of the birth of their children, which may be used consecutively or partially.
A statement sent by the Presidency indicates that these new measures seek to guarantee public servant parents to participate in the fulfillment of their parental responsibilities of a newborn child.

The provisions of this decree, refers to the document, are part of the government policy, with which the current management of the government seeks to promote respect for the principles of equality, non-discrimination and equity among public servants and servants.
