Santo Domingo. – Within the framework of the world forum of Qatarthe president Luis Abinaderinaugurated this Saturday a bust of the patrician Juan Pablo Duarte at the embassy of the Dominican Republic in that nation.
The head of state left on Thursday to participate in the activity, the opening ceremony of which he was present, and was chaired by the Emir, His Highness the Sheikh Tamin Bin Hamad Al Thani.
During his first day of work, Abinader also held several meetings with politicians and Qatari businessmen.
President Abinader’s first activity in the Doha Forumbrought together policy leaders who discussed the critical challenges the world faces in building innovative networks.
Also, the ruler held a meeting with the CEO of Qatar Airways, Badr Mohammed Al Meer, and met with the Prime Minister of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
Subsequently, and at the invitation of the prime minister, the president participated in a senior panel lunch called “Middle East Security in a Time of Increasing Multipolarity.”
He also met with CEO IRTH Capital-Private Investment Fund, Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Thani, and Minister of Education, HE Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater.
This Sunday’s agenda
In a press release, the presidency of the Republic reported that tomorrow President Luis Abinader will hold various meetings with senior officials of Qatar, in the areas of trade and industry, tourism, public health, transport and defense.
According to the statement, the president’s activities will begin at 9:30 in the morning with a meeting with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Qatar, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al-Thani, then with the Minister of Tourism, HE Saad bin Ali To the; with the Ministers of Public Health, HE Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, and the Minister of Transport, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Thani.
Likewise, he will meet with the CEO of Katara Hospitality, businessman Nasser Matar AlKawari; with the general director of Qatar Investment Authority, Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi, and at noon, with the Minister of Defense of the State of Qatar, HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Bin Hassan AlThani.
While in the afternoon, President Abinader will participate in the panel “Prospect for Cooperation in a Fragmented World”, at the Sheraton hotel, where he will also have another meeting with the general director of Qatar Fund for Development, Fahad Hamad Al- Sulaiti.
In addition, he will meet with Messrs. Moutaz and Ramez Al-Khayyat, from the company Power International Holding, at the offices of Power Holding International, and with Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Thani, CEO IRTH Capital – Private Investment Fund.
The president is accompanied by a small delegation made up of the ministers of Finance, José Manuel Vicente; of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos; the Vice Minister of Economic Affairs and Cooperation of Mirex, Hugo Rivera, and the executive director of the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), Biviana Riveiro.
Also part of the delegation are the Secretary General of the Presidential Cabinet, Eilyn Beltrán; the president’s personal assistant, Mercedes Pichardo; the president’s Press Director, Daniel García Archibald, and the Dominican ambassador to Qatar, Georges Bahsa Hazim.
