Santiago.-The president Luis Abinader inaugurated this Saturday a educational centertwo sports centers and the Banreservas Cultural Center in the province of Santiago de los Caballeros.
The president also supervised the asphalt program in the Los Solares sector; verified the progress of the construction of a sports center and a funeral home in Bella Vista. Furthermore, he maintained meetings with merchants and industrial.
During his visit, the head of state reaffirmed his commitment to the infrastructure strengtheningeducation, sports and culture, while strengthening the relationship with the productive sector of the province.
Likewise, through a statement the Press Directorate of the Presidency stated that these initiatives confirm the Government’s commitment to a comprehensive growth and sustainable of Santiago.
Sports investment
One of the projects inaugurated by the president was the new sports center of the Club Mirador Yaguita del Pastor, which contemplates transform sports life and recreational activities for thousands of inhabitants of this populous neighborhood.
The infrastructure, which community members had been waiting for for more than 30 years, was received with applause and expressions of gratitude from neighbors and young athletes.
During the inauguration, the mayor Ulises Rodríguez expressed “that this is a day of great satisfaction for its management and, above all, for the community of La Yagüita de Pastor, which for many years waited for a decent space for sports, recreation and the healthy development of its young people.
In the new sports center, children, teenagers and adults will be able to practice basketballboxing, table tennis, volleyball, recreational activitiescommunity meetings and participate in municipal sports programs.
The multipurpose roof was built with funds from the administrative budget through the execution of the Municipal Public Works Directorate, for an amount of RD$24,385,034.77.
While, with an investment of RD$23,777,672.16the head of state inaugurated the Andrés Durán sports center in Rafey, which was also awaited for years by the residents of the sector.
The new structure was built on a 985 square meter plot, intervened for the design and construction of a court with hydraulic pedestals and in fiberglass, likewise, stands on the field with a metal structure and wooden seats.
The sports center is equipped with parking, sidewalks, curbs and a ramp to access the parking lot from the street.
