President Abinader announces that he will continue to promote comprehensive care for early childhood

Presidente Abinader anuncia continuará impulsando la atención integral a la primera infancia

MONCIÓN, Santiago Rodríguez. – President Luis Abinader announced that he will continue to promote comprehensive care for early childhood, through the National Institute for Comprehensive Care for Early Childhood (INAIPI), to develop early education in the country.

The president made the announcement while leading the inauguration ceremony of the Monción Early Childhood Comprehensive Care Center (CAIPI), in Santiago Rodríguez, as part of the plan to expand the services developed by the entity.

He said that the government continues to strengthen education for boys and girls from 3 to 5 years old, strengthening the programs aimed at this age range that are implemented by both INAIPI and MINERD.

“I can tell you that when we can have the largest number of boys and girls in initial education, at least from the age of three, education will really begin to change in the Dominican Republic,” he specified.

At the opening ceremony, President Abinader was accompanied by Harolin Almonte, Deputy Director of Inter-Institutional Relations at INAIPI, representing Besaida Manola Santana de Báez, Executive Director of the entity; Deligne Ascension, Minister of Public Works; Igor Rodríguez, Administrative Vice Minister of the Presidency; Roberto Ángel Salcedo, director of PROPEP; as well as Ivelis del Carmen Almonte and Antonio Marte, governor and senator of Santiago Rodríguez, respectively.

Harolin Almonte said that 250 infants receive comprehensive quality care under the INAIPI model.

“In this administration, early childhood won, childhood won, because we have a president who, from the beginning of his administration, has made it clear that the only way to guarantee a better country is by investing in those who represent our future.”

Likewise, Ascensión highlighted that research carried out has shown that investment in children is the one that guarantees the greatest return.

“And it’s good that constructions like this, through institutions like INAIPI, are intended for early childhood because what is planted there will last forever,” he specified.

He added that the actions of President Abinader have made it possible to eliminate the legal knot that prevented the conclusion of these centers.

Mrs. Edelmira Vilorio, who represented the beneficiary families, thanked President Luis Abinader for the construction of the new CAIPI. While the priest Lucas Núñez blessed the building.

The inaugural act was attended by INAIPI, Yanett Rodríguez, deputy director of Institutional Management; Johanna Elías, Director of Service Networks; Juan Tomás Méndez, Director of Operations; Aideli Almonte, Director of Planning and Development; Laura Concepción, director of Territorial Articulation and Silvio Reyes, director of Communication Technology.
Fernando Taveras, Yanser Fernández, Juan Ramón Veras, Juan Francisco Peralta, among other personalities, also attended.

About CAIPI
In the CAIPI Monción, comprehensive quality care will be offered to 250 newly admitted boys and girls aged 0 to 5, residing in seven neighborhoods of this productive municipality, such as: El Cerro, Plan Sierra, El Cepillo, Barrio Nuevo , Urbanization Peralta, El Mamoncito and Cañada Grande.

Infants will be receiving services from 7:30 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon, in 10 rooms distributed according to age range.

The center also has a lactation area, a play area, a feeder, children’s bathrooms, an administrative area, parking lots, a kitchen, as well as food and supplies stores, among other areas.
