In which states will there be tax increases?
The legislature of the State of Mexico approved the increase in 20 municipalities for the drinking water service in percentages higher than the inflationary index that will apply in the other municipalities.
Increase in water payment in municipalities of the State of Mexico
In 11 municipalities, the authorities argued that the amounts receivable should be calculated based on the current Measurement and Update Unit (UMA), which will mean an upward adjustment of around 7%.
Metepec, Naucalpan, Tlalnepantla, Huixquilucan, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Coacalco, Valle de Bravo, Jilotepec, El Oro, Tepotzotlán and Acolman.
The other nine municipalities that will have increases above the inflation rate are Toluca, Zinacantepec, Lerma, Tecámac, Tultitlán, Atlacomulco, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Cuautitlán México and Amecameca.
The deputies instructed that the municipal presidents will be obliged to submit a report to the Legislature no later than November 15, 2023 in which they detail what they did with the money collected, and they must also increase their collection.
Increases the cost of procedures in Jalisco
In Jalisco, the authorities approved the increase in the cost of vehicle endorsement procedures, driver’s license and payroll tax.
*Vehicle endorsement: increased 23 pesos, with this citizens will pay 734 pesos and 63 extra pesos to cover the mandatory contributions for the Red Cross and Hogar Cabañas with 34 and 29 pesos respectively.
* Endorsement for motorcyclists: it will go up 29 more pesos, to add 314 pesos.
* Driver’s license: it will increase 25 pesos to reach 817.
* Driver’s licenses for drivers: had an increase of 29 pesos, going from 893 to 922 pesos.
* Driver’s licenses for motorcyclists will cost 470 pesos this new year, compared to the 455 pesos it cost in 2022.
Driver’s license endorsement
In accordance with the Income Law 2023, the endorsement of driver’s licenses valid for four years also had an increase. The one for motorists went from 664 to 685 pesos, drivers from 792 to 817 and motorcyclists from 430 to 444 pesos.
Michoacan
The State Congress approved the increase in drinking water rates by 5% by 2023 in Morelia, Michoacán, in accordance with the Municipal Income Law.
There will be some adjustments, such as real estate transactions, since starting in 2023 the rate will be implemented based on the commercial value, since it was previously done with the cadastral value.
*Vehicle endorsement. This year it will cost 1,056 pesos, a total of 64 pesos more compared to 2022.
*Birth registration: An increase of almost 100 pesos was authorized in the registration of newborns.
