The court suspended the hearing to prepare the oral trial against the mayor of Recoleta, Daniel Jadue, where the request to suspend the position was denied.
As reported Radio Bio Bio, at 09:00 hours this Wednesday, the oral trial preparation hearing was scheduled against the mayor for the legal case in dispute over the Bellavista building. It should be noted that in this case, the communal chief is accused of alleged crimes of corruption.
In that sense, the hearing that was scheduled for today did not take place and ended up being suspended by the court. This, due to an amparo appeal filed by Jadue’s defenders, Ciro Colombara and Aldo Díaz, which is still pending and must be ruled by the Supreme Court.
In addition, it is added that the director of Municipal Works of Recoleta, Alfredo Parra, had not been notified of the hearing. Another factor is that only on August 24 would the interveners have access to the investigative file.
The complainants requested to suspend the mayor from his functions invoking article 61 of the Organic Law of Municipalities. The defense opposed and agreed with them, so the mayor will remain in office.
Díaz and Colombara stated that “the Public Ministry investigated, closed the investigation and decided to file. Mayor Jadue’s request for suspension, which was rejected, shows that now there is only a political instrumentalization of justice by Real Estate Bellavista and a former councilor It is a very clear case of Lawfare”.
For his part, the mayor of Recoleta spoke on his social networks, and pointed out that “the preparatory hearing for the trial with Real Estate Bellavista is suspended, due to an amparo appeal pending in the Supreme Court. Complainants requested my suspension as mayor and it was denied. They were not interested in the building, they only want to do political damage. Lawfare“.
