The Municipal Secretary of Health of Rio de Janeiro announced today (11) that it will start vaccinating pregnant and postpartum women with the bivalent vaccine against covid-19 next Monday (13).
Booster vaccination with the bivalent vaccine, updated to protect against the Ômicron variant, now covers immunocompromised people aged 12 years or older and adults aged 60 years or older.
Clinics
Doses are applied in all family clinics and municipal health centers in Rio. The vaccine is also available at the Super Centro Carioca de Vacinação and at extra posts.
As of Tuesday (14), Rio will also expand the vaccination of health workers, with the vaccination of those over 50 years old. In the following days, the age group will be extended by ten years per day, until all workers in the sector over 18 can be vaccinated on Saturday.
