While final details are being finalized for the launch of the third edition of Pre-Tripthis Monday the Government signed a price agreement with the companies in the hotel sector that are linked to the campaign.
In this sense, the Ministers of the Economy, Sergio Massa, and of Tourism, Matías Lammens, agreed on maximum accommodation prices with the sector, so that citizens who take advantage of the benefits of Program do not suffer abuse. This, moreover, serves as a prelude to the launch of the next edition of Pre-Trip.
To establish the maximum rates of the accommodations that participate in Pre-Trip 3, the latest low season prices available in the main destinations of each province were taken as a referencedepending on the characteristics of the place.
From the Ministry of Economy, they explained that the control will be in charge of the Ministry of Internal Trade and detailed that, “if any hotel exceeds that price range, it will be removed from the Pre-Trip”.
Days ago, Lammens had pointed out that the third edition of the program would have “some peculiarities”. Mainly, that it will aim to be “a stimulus for the low season, maintaining the importance of tourism for regional economies.”
After the signing of the agreement, the minister stressed that “this program has been a success from every point of view. People are happy, that they can travel; the national State is happy, which promotes the activity and formalizes it; and the tourism sector because it represents almost 10 points of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and has been greatly strengthened by Pre-Trip“.
For his part, Massa pointed out: “We believe in the program, but we also believe that it cannot end up playing against us in terms of inflation. The sector has to make the effort alongside the State. The ordering of prices will help us lower inflation expectations and it is good that we make the effort together“.
