The purchase of vehicles pre-owned has had significant growth in the peruvian market. After the arrival of inflation worldwide and the shortage of new vehicles, people have seen the acquisition of used cars as a good option to have one.
According to information from the Automotive Association of Peru (AAP), in the first half of 2022 in our country, 322,368 cars were transferred nationwide. Additionally, Mitsui specified that in 2022 it closed with an increase of 11% compared to the results obtained the previous year. The concessionaire anticipates that this year they will obtain a growth of a little more than 48% thanks to the opening of two new points of sale in Lima and Arequipa.

“The category of pre-owned vehicles was able to recover more quickly after the pandemic. During this time we came across a reduction in the importation of new vehicles, it is at that moment that we were able to discover a new consumer profile with different purchasing habits, needs and expectations that favored many to opt for used cars” stated Roberto Ugarte, Mitsui pre-owned vehicle assistant manager.
In this category there is a predilection of users towards HILUX trucks, a model that has been in the top 1 of the best-selling pre-owned vehicles for a few years. Another option that is in high demand, mainly among private customers, are the Corolla, Yaris and Rav4 models.
“At Mitsui we offer a wide variety of pre-owned vehicles, we give the user the advantage of leaving their unit as part of payment. It is a fast, easy and safe option that we call ‘We buy your car the same day’ with the best experience offered by our dealership” added Roberto Ugarte.
