PRD representative Crispiano Adames says that the government is disconnected from the needs of the people

The current government has been disconnected from the bases of the PRD party and has focused its attention on the high hierarchies, questioned the candidate for the primaries of this group, Crispiano Adames, in an interview with journalist Castalia Pascual from TVN.

Adames regretted that after the death of General Omar Torrijos, a reform process began in the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) and today it is “submerged in a clientelist and electoral party and not in meeting the real needs of the Panamanian people.”

The president of the Assembly and presidential candidate maintained that this national dissatisfaction is the product of both the party’s actions and the way in which the administration of the Government has been carried out.

Adames urged the bases to vote massively and forcefully on June 11, when the primaries for Omar’s party will take place, it will be time to demonstrate that “Your voice is your vote.”

According to the deputy, it is inconceivable that the feeling of malaise is the same at the national level and he has verified it on his tour of the country.

«There is simply no forgetting but abandonment under the protection of indifference and incapacity; there is no consideration for the scarcity of drinking water, the road network and the public health system, or education, “she said.

With two terms as president of the Assembly, Adames recognized that there was a lack of greater pressure to address these issues; although he did make it clear that he was summoned to the Minister of Public Works (MOP), Rafael Sabonge, whom he referred to as “a character who is completely unaware of the reality of our situations, especially within the republic.”

In addition, he mentioned the director of the Institute of National Aqueducts and Sewers, Juan Antonio Ducruet, whom he considers a “very competent person”, however, he does not enjoy the budgets that such a high-profile institution should have.

The pre-candidate for the presidency for the PRD stressed that some government proposals have not complied partly due to the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, but more due to the lack of planning.

What is required in the opinion of deputy Adames, is a “blow of the rudder”, refreshing the cabinet of President Cortizo, because there are figures who have no endorsement from the bases and have shown supreme incapacity and indolence.

Likewise, he asked the political class in general to reflect on the clientelism that today corrodes political parties, pillars of democracy.
